Some projects come full circle.
I first met Andy Bird, founder of i-Disti, over five years ago when he worked in marketing for Syndico Distributions. Back then, I was producing video content for Syndico’s reseller network — filming product showcases and promotional material for cutting-edge communication and technology brands. Even then, Andy stood out for his professionalism and his focus on building genuine partnerships between brands, distributors, and end users.
Fast forward a few years, and Andy has founded i-Disti, a specialist UK technology distributor working directly with global manufacturers in the drone, defence, and unmanned systems sector. i-Disti bridges the gap between high-end manufacturers and resellers across Europe — supplying everything from commercial drones to unmanned ground vehicles emerging from Ukraine’s innovative engineering scene.
When Andy approached me to rebrand and rebuild the i-Disti website, the aim was clear:
He wanted a site that would present advanced technology in a clear, credible, and professional way, without the clutter of typical eCommerce websites. This wasn’t about online checkout or consumer-style sales — it was about building trust, displaying product capability, and presenting complex specifications in an accessible way for resellers and procurement professionals.
The Task
To rebrand i-Disti and create a modern product catalogue website that clearly communicates the quality and range of technology available, while setting a foundation for future growth and manufacturer partnerships.
The Strategy
The approach was to make i-Disti feel like a technology hub rather than a simple online shop. That meant prioritising clarity, structure, and confidence. The visual design needed to appeal to professionals in defence, engineering, and drone technology — people who care about technical detail and reliability more than flashy graphics.
Using WordPress with a WooCommerce backbone, I built the site as a product display system only. Each product page features technical specifications, datasheets, and high-quality imagery — laid out in a clean grid that allows the engineering to speak for itself. The dark, technical aesthetic supports the brand’s tone and ties in well with the defence and commercial tech market.
The Design
The rebrand focused on subtlety rather than gimmicks — clean lines, modern typography, and an understated use of colour to reinforce professionalism. The site is fast, responsive, and scalable — giving i-Disti the flexibility to grow its catalogue as new manufacturer partnerships are established.
Beyond the visuals, the structure is built for efficiency and control. Andy and his team can update product information easily, attach PDFs or videos, and present new technologies in a consistent format.
An Ongoing Partnership
Our collaboration didn’t stop at launch. I continue to work with Andy on technical support, creative direction, and video production for his manufacturer partners — producing visual content that helps resellers promote i-Disti’s product lines more effectively.
What makes this project special is the trust and history behind it. Andy and I have known each other for years, and this long-term professional relationship has evolved into a creative partnership where we both understand what the other brings to the table — his knowledge of technology distribution, and my ability to translate that into engaging visual and digital presentation.
Looking Ahead
The drone and unmanned vehicle market is one of the most rapidly developing sectors in technology today, with applications in defence, logistics, agriculture, and public safety. i-Disti is perfectly positioned as a distribution partner for manufacturers who need a reliable gateway into the UK and European markets — and I’m proud to play a part in helping shape their online and visual presence.
This project is a perfect example of what I try to achieve with Pixel Prometheus — creating digital assets that help real businesses move forward, especially those in technical, industrial, and engineering-based industries.
